The Start of a Wonderful House

We had our Pre-Construction meeting on Monday, where we went through all the blueprints of the house, talked through all the options we made, walked the staked-out lot and made sure we (and our Project Manager) were comfortable with everything.  They even allowed us to change the placement of a basement window (at no cost!) because it was where we were going to build our deck.

They told us they were ready to start digging on Wednesday (a week early from the initial plan!), pour the footers on Thursday, and then most likely pour the foundation the following Tuesday.  We drove down on Saturday (4 days after dig day) and boy, were we surprised!

Back of House (it looks like the foundation is unfinished, but our grade is unique and allows for a walk-out condition from the basement.  The back will be finished with siding, like the rest of the above-basement house).
